New article in Air & Cosmos on senior air passengers


Elderly passengers (55+ years old) represent an increasing share of air passengers (around 20%). Because of decreasing physical and cognitivie abilities, these passengers face many challenges when traveling by plane. In addition, as customers with specific needs, they generate additional challenges for airlines and airports.

This article (in French) offers some insights on the specific needs of senior air passengers. We show that elderly passengers should not be considered as a constraint for airlines and airports but as an opportunity to create niche offers for this booming market.
